100 Day Spending Ban Update #1

The first week of my 100 day spending ban is over and it's been pretty easy!

I was very tempted by the LUSH Happy Hour sales that were going on, but a quick look at my crazy beauty stash confirmed that I simply didn't need to get anything.  I've been re-evaluating my stash a lot recently and have brought forward a bunch of products that are nearly used up so I'm hoping to have a LOT of empties this month.

I've also been making more use of my local library and have discovered their fantastic ordering in service where you can request books to be bought on your behalf.  Last week, I requested around £40 worth of books to be ordered in which should be arriving next month.  So that's £40 saved!

Work, essays for Uni and a spot of redecorating at home have been keeping busy busy busy and away from the shops and from browsing online, so I'm proud to say that I haven't spent anything on stuff that's on my banned list.  Hoping that this week will be just as easy!

  2. You are doing so well, its cool that the local library buys books in for you -thats amazing!

I have been doing well, not been too tempted except for one handbag I saw in M&S when I went to buy my lunch in there the other day....I didnt buy it though - I dont *need* it!

I have been going to the gym instead of the shops at lunchtimes and I think that is really helping to keep me out of trouble! I will write an update this week.

Thanks for the link in your post :-)

    Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks, good to hear that you're doing well too! I've been avoiding M&S because I always end up browsing at their accessories and knitwear, so I can understand how you'd be tempted! xxx

  3. You must have so much willpower, I don't think I couldn't spend (waste) money on things that I didn't actually need for a whole 100 days. I really should get a ban/ budget in order though. Student loan doesn't last forever :(

  4. Well done! I wonder if my local library does that. My school library lets you borrow books from other schools in the area but I'm not sure if they'll buy it for you x

  5. Well done, I didn't see the point of me going on a spending ban as I don't spend that much, most of my money goes on driving lessons now. xxx
